BIO DIVERSITY
We are dedicated to preserving urban biodiversity and protecting our beaches. Our team actively participates in beach cleanups and tree planting programmes, helping to improve the health of our environment.
We also take pride in educating our community about the importance of protecting natural resources, encouraging everyone to take responsibility for environmental care. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and local partnerships, we aim to inspire sustainable practices and create a more eco-conscious community.


WASTE REDUCTION INITIATIVES
Waste Tracking : We focus on reducing waste by tracking and measuring it, helping us monitor recycling efforts and set annual goals for improvement.
Reducing Single-Use Plastic : We aim to cut down on single-use plastics by replacing items like plastic stirrers, straws, and sachets with eco-friendly options. Glass water bottles have also replaced PET bottles in guest rooms, significantly reducing plastic waste.
Waste Diversion : We separate waste by material type to maximize recycling and minimize landfill waste. One key initiative is reducing reliance on furnace oil and lowering our carbon footprint. We also use technology to cut down on paper usage, promoting digital solutions to further reduce our environmental impact


ENERGY SAVING INITATIVES
Our energy-saving initiatives include using LED bulbs, Building Management Systems for efficient energy control, Magnetic Bearing Chillers, sensor lights, energy-efficient equipment, and variable speed drives to optimize power usage.
We also incorporate skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting.


WATER SAVING INITIATIVES
Our water-saving initiatives aim to conserve resources and reduce environmental impact. We offer a linen reuse program, encouraging guests to reuse towels and bed linens, which helps save water and reduce chemical use.
We also use sensor taps, low-flow showerheads, dual flush systems, and rainwater harvesting to further improve water conservation across our operations.


EMPLOYEE WELLBEING
Our hotel is committed to fostering employee well-being through initiatives that create a supportive and healthy work environment. We offer nutritious meals, on-site dormitory accommodations, alongside regular activities such as sports events, celebrations for special occasions, staff engagement activities with friendly competitions.
We also host awareness sessions on important topics like breast cancer, child protection, and mental health to support our team in all areas of life. Additionally, we focus on educating employees about policies and new developments that enable them to work more efficiently while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS


Hands to Hope - Prithipura Donation
The Project Prithipura Initiative aims to enhance the living standards of both children and adults at Prithipura Home, allowing caregivers to dedicate more time and attention to their needs and overall development. Through this initiative, we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives by providing essential donations.


Empowering Young Mind – Monaragala School Project
In September, to celebrate our 10th anniversary and as part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, we organized a School Item Donation Program, in a remote village in Monaragala. This initiative was dedicated to supporting students from Grades 1 to 5 in a rural community by providing them with essential school supplies. Through this donation, we aimed to enhance their educational experience, ease financial burdens on families, and empower young learners with the resources they need to succeed.


Celebrating Strength & Spirit
The International Men’s Day Celebration at Cinnamon Red was an engaging staff event dedicated to recognizing and honouring the invaluable contributions of the men in our team. The event provided a platform to appreciate their hard work, dedication, and commitment, while also promoting a sense of camaraderie and unity among all staff members.
Through this celebration, we aimed to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, where everyone feels valued and supported. It was an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of men’s well-being, mental health, and empowerment, while also encouraging an open and respectful environment for all. By celebrating International Men’s Day, we continue to strengthen our team's bond and promote equality and respect in every aspect of our work life.


Training & Development
Our hotel is dedicated to supporting the future of hospitality by offering training opportunities to young people from local hotel schools. We also invite students from various schools and institutions to visit our property, allowing them to gain practical experience and valuable insights into our operations.
These visits provide students with the chance to explore potential careers in the hospitality industry while helping them develop the skills needed to thrive in their future careers.
